Information about cookies and their use
What are cookies
Cookies are information in the form of short text files that are sent to your browser from a website you visit. This information is stored on the hard disk of the computer, or in the memory of a mobile device, of the user and allows the website to keep information on the navigation performed by the user. These tools are able to improve the user's browsing experience.
There are different types of cookies:
- temporary cookies (or session) which are automatically deleted when the browser or device is closed;
- persistent cookies that are not deleted but remain stored until their specific cancellation, or until the expiration date defined by the site.
Cookies are also divided into:
- first-party cookies: these are cookies created by the site you are visiting and only that site can read them;
- third-party cookies: these are cookies created by any external services activated by the site (e.g. to process statistics and analysis of visitor flows and actions).
Most browsers accept cookies automatically; however, you can configure your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate the possible sending of a cookie. The risk, however, is that some website services or features may not function properly without cookies.
Every time you visit this site you will be invited to accept or decline cookies. This allows the site to remember your preferences (e.g. language) for a certain period of time. This way you won't have to re-enter them while browsing the site during the same session. Cookies can also be used to collect statistical data anonymously.
How cookies are used on this site
This site mostly uses first party cookies, which are not created or controlled by external parties. However, to view some pages it may be necessary to accept third party cookies, generated by external organizations.
The first-party cookies used here are technical cookies, which are used to:
- save visitor preferences (preference cookies);
- make the website operational (operational cookies);
- collect statistical data (analytical cookies).
Preference cookies
The visitor preferences saved in the first-party cookies of this site memorize:
- if you have accepted (or rejected) the site's cookie policy;
- if you have already seen a possible pop-up message, to prevent it from being repeated to you on every page.
Operational cookies
There are some first-party cookies that the site must use in order for the web pages to work and for which consent is therefore not requested. In particular these are the:
- authentication cookies, which are saved if you open a session on the site using the authentication service (login). In doing so, you accept the relevant personal data protection policy;
- technical cookies required by some information technology systems.
Analytical cookies
These cookies are used only to extract data for statistical and research purposes. These cookies are used to evaluate, in an anonymous and aggregate (non-personal) form, how you interact with the website. Furthermore, these data are not shared with third parties nor are they used for any other purpose.
Cookies and privacy
The management of cookies on this site remains in any case subject to what is indicated in the privacy policy set out in the following page of the site: Privacy policy.
