The title "Alla ingherese" is written in the manuscript by Beethoven's handwriting. It stands, according to someone, for rondo "all'ongarese", or "all'ungherese", one of the favorite forms of composition at the end of the 18th century, also used by Haydn more than once. The "quasi un capriccio" addition would have been determined by the freedom of development that can be seen after the fourth exposition of the refrain.

The phrase referring to the rage over a lost penny (which inspired to Schumann a witty critical page) is, in the manuscript, in a different handwriting, probably referred to some of the master's words more or less exactly reported or interpreted, or connected with some anecdotal circumstance.
